Turid combines her passion for nature and textiles by creating unique pieces using natural dyes and fibers. She recycles linen, cotton, wool and silk when possible, and gives it new life with colors from avocado, madder, weld, indigo and other plants, often in combination with botanical prints. With dye paste she makes from plant extracts she also works with techniques like screen printing, block printing, monotypes and painting. The dyed fabric will then be made into scarves, bags, clothes, cushions and artwork. Nothing goes to waste in the process, and even thread cuts find their place alongside fabric scrap and small things found in nature. Sustainability is the foundation of everything she does, and besides her natural dye workshops she also wishes to inspire people to creatively upcycle and repair their textiles and clothing.
