Originally from Barcelona, she is going to acquire a series of basic knowledge about ceramics at the Rakú school. In 2000 she moved to Menorca with a ceramics workshop in Maó, dedicating herself, to all, to making decorative objects.
August 2019 is transferred to Es Mercadal to move to its workshop-botiga. Integrated with all the world of craftsmanship, it creates its own designs, unique fishes, combining metals with ceramics. It mainly makes collarets, penjolls and arracades, rings; Bracelets and bracelets, among other ornamental objects. It also makes fish per encàrrec, adapting the six creations to the consumer's taste.
In ceramics, clay plates of different types and sizes are used, including three small fish of different shapes, depending on the metal object and what to combine. The ceramic fish once prepared according to the designs are allowed to cool at room temperature and then placed in the oven at a temperature of 980°. The next step consists of the enamelment of the fish, which will pass through the forn into a shallow barrier, remaining to be killed by the objects for which they have been designed.
I will say that the fish that are painted are painted to me, as it cannot be any other way.
In metals it works with silver, llautó or zamak and in the finish of some models it also incorporates pell, fil encerat or chains of different types.
In Mireia there is a new collection every season, inspiring everything, with Menorcan elements and colors. Colors in which turquoise, white, vermell or green predominate...
