My name is Maite Benejam Alles and I come from a family of gardeners and florists. Since my childhood I have grown up surrounded by flowers and trees. Although for many years I worked in social education, some time ago I decided to return to my roots and my love for nature, focusing on aromatic and medicinal plants.
This is how A Sol i Serena was born, a project that takes shape on a small farm in the north of Ciutadella. Here, from different varieties of plants and herbs, autochthonous or adapted to our Mediterranean climate, I make incense in a completely handmade way.
The elaboration process follows a long and respectful rhythm with the natural cycles. Awareness and presence guide each step of this transformation process, which includes the selection, harvesting, drying and grinding of the herbs until a fine, aromatic powder is obtained.
With this powder, and already inside the workshop, incense sticks are created, so that you can enjoy at home the soft scents that transport us to magical gardens and the marinas so characteristic of Menorca. At the same time, these organic aromas connect us with ancient rituals of purification and harmonisation of spaces, allowing us to reconnect with our essence.
